Pioneerred by Richard Kroeker in collaboration with Albert Marshall, this bentwood construction method is inspired by Indigenous building methods.
Young, straight trees found on-site are bent into trusses to form a pointed arch. Using local materials makes this method much more affordable than modern construction methods, and small trees can be selectively logged from an overcrowded forest, making this method ecological as well.
GOAL: Build a bentwood cabin here in Baddeck using trees found on-site.
